CREDIT ASSISTANCE OF MICROFINANCE INSTITUTIONS WITH RESPECT TO FINANCIAL INCLUSION IN SOUTH KARNATAKA – ISSUES AND CHALLENGES

Abstract

Microfinance Institutions are special financial institutions for the social nature especially for the upliftment of the economic weaker section of the society. They have proven to be the most effective and efficient conduit for channelizing the vast resource for the benefit of the poor to foster inclusive growth. The regulatory body allows microfinance institutions to prospects their deposits and expands with their banking functions. This paper examines the effectiveness, performance and assessment of microfinance institutions in Karnataka and their contribution to attaining goals of financial inclusion in Karnataka.
