SURVEY ON TECHNIQUES AND FEATURES OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY IMAGE CLASSIFICATION
Abstract
Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is the most prevalent complication that emerges as a result of diabetes, and it specifically impacts the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. Identifying Diabetic Retinopathy in its early stages presents a significant challenge. The process requires the expert interpretation of fundus images, which are detailed photographs of the interior surface of the eye, including the retina. This task demands the specialized skills and experience of clinical professionals to accurately diagnose and manage the condition effectively. This paper has focused on image classification for diabetic disease detection. Different stages of diabetic retinopathy was detailed in paper. Various models were developed by the researcher for image classification were detailed in the paper. Image features were list in the paper that were commonly used for training and testing of models. Various evaluation parameters were shown in paper that were commonly used for comparison of classification models.
